Print Clash Fash

Since I’ve never been very good at wearing black, and in the name of eclectic fashion, here I’ve teamed my French Maid Dress by J.W. Anderson for Topshop with bright pink floral tights from Primark. They make my legs look like economy sausages, but hey, they go with my pink hair (which I’ve styled into a fake mohican to counter the austere tailored dress and the smart cut of the coat).

Speaking of which, my snakeskin print trenchcoat is by Helene Berman by way of House Of Fraser, and my heels are Block Pumps by United Nude because my addiction for this shoe brand knows no bounds – other than never buying a pair at full price as they have great sales (don’t worry, you can thank me later).

So go on, clash that fash: out with the old and in with the bold!

Orange Crush

As you may have noticed, I’m a big fan of colour: colour-blocking, clashing, accenting, flashing, indeed a veritable riot of colour is what I feel most at home wearing. So much so, that this is one of my more conservative outfits (although today my bleached white-blonde bob does have additional pink streaks in it, thanks to Kevin Murphy’s wipe-on-wash-out Color Bug)!
My hot pink 3/4 length coat is from Karen Millen, the skinny, high-waisted, zip-flare jeans are from the 1971 Reiss range, the orange jumper’s from Primark, and the leopardprint platform ponyskin shoes are by Deena & Ozzy courtesy of Urban Outfitters (see previous post). High Street heaven!

Leopardprint Love

Friday’s school-run shoes are simply outstanding – to my mind at least!
Dizzily high platform heels with leopard-print, furry ponyskin (or some such), they’re made by Deena & Ozzy and were bought in the Urban Outfitters pre-Christmas sale. For me it was love at first sight.
Surprisingly, despite their height, they are both comfortable and easy to walk in, presumably because of the chunky rather than stiletto heel, and of course the luxurious cushiness of the platforms. Which makes them the most perfect, fantastically funky footwear for the school-run. Who’d’a thunk it, eh?!
